Nissan leaf is the most popular electric vehicle in Sri Lanka. Instead of a typical vehicle running on diesel petrol, it includes an electrically powered battery. So today we will discuss the advantages also disadvantages of this Nissan leaf car in Sri Lanka. This is our Nissan Leaf Full Review.
When first discussing the exterior of a Nissan leaf, this car is designed to maximize the vehicle’s efficiency and reduce air resistance. The headlights are raised above the body of the vehicle to minimize the air resistance and noise caused by the side mirrors. It also has a euro dynamic underbody cover and a river defensor.
Nissan Leaf – OverView
This leaf is produced in the factories of Japan, England, and the United States, but in Sri Lanka, we can often see production in Japan and UK models. UK model has Visia, Acenta, Tekna and Japan model has 3 models as S, X, G. Although each of these models is technically the same, there are significant differences in prices in the Sri Lankan market. The majority of our opinion in Sri Lanka is that the shortcoming of Japanese vehicles are minimized and the leaf has also been affected. Accordingly, the Japanese model is in high demand in Sri Lanka and G model remains in the highest position.
The Nissan leaf has a charging port on the front of the vehicle. The charging port can be opened from inside the vehicle as well as with the remote key. The three blue lights on the dashboard indicate that the vehicle is charging and you can see from the outside how much the vehicle is charged. It also has a factory-fitted reverse camera. Overall the leaf car is different from the average car but it looks nice. The special shape has been given to the leaf car to make it easier for the person driving an eco-car to be distinguished as well as the respect of the people.

Design & Interior
Talking about the interior, you can see the features that should be in a more expensive luxury car in terms of features. The interior is mostly made of soft-touch material. Recycling material has been used in many places in the interior as another step towards eco-friendliness. The Nissan leaf is also available due to the many features found in modern vehicles such as keyless entry, push start, cruise control, reverse camera, front-seat heaters, Bluetooth phone calls. The Nissan leaf also features high amenities such as around your monitor, boost sound system, heated steering wheel.
A very cool special feature of this vehicle is that it has good leg space in the front as well as the rear seat. It has an N cap 5-star safety rating with six airbags. This is a very good vehicle in terms of passenger safety. The A-pillar is thicker on the one hand than the other. So there is a glass in the middle of the A-pillar to increase the visibility. In terms of vehicle suspension, soft passenger comfort is much better. Due to the automatic climate control system, the cabin can be cooled quickly even on hot days. But since the A/C works on the main battery of the vehicle, the range of the vehicle clearly decreases as soon as the A/C is turned on.

There are two-meter panels on the leaf dashboard. In the display below, the gauge on the left shows the temperature of the battery. The gauge on the right shows the distance the vehicle can go. The most important part of a Nissan leaf car is battery health. If it has the full capacity, it will show twelve levels. But it is normal for the level to drop gradually over time.
The dot row at the top shows how ecofriendly we drive. When we accelerate hard, the battery drains faster. The display above shows things like speed, time, and temperature.
And there is also a gauge that shows how economically the vehicle is driven. Economically, when you drive for a long time, the gauge becomes full and new tree signs start falling in front of each other. There is a B mode in addition to the driving mood. Driving in B mode causes the battery to charge. This vehicle has a good boot space. You can also increase the space by folding the back seat. Instead of a spare tire, you get a repair kit.
Nissan leaf, typically manufactured after 2013, can travel up to 150km on a single charge. It costs about 20 units of electricity to charge one time. The service cost is very low in Nissan leaf. Nissan has recommended that the brake oil should be changed within 50,000km.
Considering the advantages, the running cost is much lower than typical petrol or hybrid vehicle. It is also an advantage to have the facilities of a luxury car at such a price. Disadvantages include not being able to run long distances continuously and battery capacity decreasing over time.
